I'm Back

Hey all, its been a while since I've put up a post, a full month actually. I've been super super busy so now I have a moment to put some thoughts up. So over this past month I've been listening to a lot of new really cool things and have had some cool experiences. First to start out with, I went to a clinic at Berklee College of Music where the speaker was none other than JAMES TAYLOR. Such a cool experience with James talking about his guitar playing and having his brother Livingston on stage facilitating the whole thing was just an unbelievable experience. James played "Carolina on My Mind," "Sweet Baby James" and a host of other guitar licks from his famous songs. The clinic ended with James and Livingston playing and singing together on Livingston's song "Falling in Love With You" Which leads me to my next segment: Songs to check out...

First start with "Falling in Love With You" by Livingston Taylor, great tune and great melody, Here is a youtube video of this song done by both Liv and James a while back "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aPl_kCsrKY"

Check out a band called Liptease, super cool electronic sound with infectious lyrics and as they say "We are here to dominate your ears" and they do just that. Check out their myspace page http://www.myspace.com/lipteaseme

So in two days I am going to see John Mayer at the Boston Garden and I am ecstatic I cannot wait but anyway a song to check out by him that I've been digging lately is "In your Atmosphere" or the live in LA version of "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room"

Here's a few more to check out
"The Boxer" Simon and Garfunkle

Check out the band "Mornin' old sport" at http://www.myspace.com/morninoldsport or search them on youtube.

There was an amazing version of "Hallelujah" done for the Hope for Haiti telethon by Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris, Check it out, it gives me goosebumps.

And to hit a wayback machine on you, lets drop it back to the 90's and a song "Walk on the Ocean" by Toad and the Wet Sprocket

Check those out, give them a listen

Til Next Time
